Philip G. DeLoach

Philip DeLoach is a professional artist with experience in graphic design, computer illustration, and mixed media.

Professional Experience: Philip spent ten years as a printer and graphic artist before he became a full-time artist. He was a content provider for the Artists' Exchange at About.com for six years. His Artists' Exchange Website was included in an article entitled "29 Must-See Web Sites for Artists" in the October 2000 issue of "The Artist's Magazine".

Was the Art Director for two years for a small movie studio called Selra Films, Inc. Kennesaw, Georgia.

Education: Philip holds a bachelor's degree in fine art from West Georgia College, Carrollton, GA. (Now West Georgia State University).

Mediums: Philip's art is mostly realism with some exploration of Science Fiction/ Fantasy and historical subjects. Mediums include drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, computer art including mixing photography and computer enhancements. The work is "illustrative" as if designed to illustrate a story.

Currently has illustrations in the recently released book "Foster's Store". An account of the life and lifestyles of college students at West Georgia College back in the late 60s - early 70s.

Currently has several stories at the "How to Make a Family" Website. Was commissioned to paint a mural for the museum that houses "The General" Locomotive in Kennesaw, GA. Was also commissioned to create a set of limited edition prints for the Sesquicentennial Celebration in Kennesaw, GA.

Did commission work for Allatoona Quilts, Inc. in Acworth, GA. Illustrated and did pre-press for the "Georgia Quilting on my Mind" magazine for Allatoona Quilts Inc., Acworth, GA.


Awards/Honors:

Had my Poem "Paper Fans" published in the Community Arts Cafe Magazine, August '09 issue.

Perspectives 2008 Open Art Show at Gallery Group Art Gallery. (click on image to get a larger view)
Won First Place in Oil and Acrylic Painting.

Won Third Place in 3D Sculpture.


Entered the Dimensions 2009 Juried Art Show/Competition at Associated Artists of Winston Salem NC Gallery. Out of over 400 entries from artists all over the country they choose 87 enries. One of my submissions was chosen. It was my terra-cotta portrait bust "T.J.".


I currently have two entries in the Expressions 2009 exhibit in Martinsville, Virginia.
